What is the Skill Centre Program?

The Skill Centre Program is designed for players seeking a more challenging and competitive playing environment. Our main goal is to help each player reach their full potential in a dynamic and fun setting.

Program Details

The Skill Centre Program runs for 18 weeks and is offered in two options:

Option 1: One session weekly + League games (games start in June)

  • Training: Once a week, focusing on skill development, ball retention, and technical activities.

  • League Games: Games will begin in June, with U8/9 playing on Saturdays and U10/11 on Sundays. There will be no games on long weekends.

  • Schedule: One practice session a week and games every second weekend

Option 2: Two sessions weekly + League games (games start in June)

  • Training: Twice a week, with an emphasis on skill development, ball retention, and technical activities. This option also includes weekly Champions League training, focusing on competitive play in a fun environment.

  • League Games: Games will begin in June, with U8/9 playing on Saturdays and U10/11 on Sundays. There will be no games on long weekends.

  • Schedule: Two practice sessions and games every second weekend

Note: There will be no sessions on holidays.

Skill Centre - For Players U7/U8/U9 (Born in 2018 / 2017 / 2016)

  • Option 1: $415

  • Option 2: $495

Skill Centre - For Players U10/U11 (Born in 2015 / 2014)

  • Option 1: $435

  • Option 2: $515

What Do The Fees Include?

  • Facility Costs

  • Coaches - Lead and assistants

  • Registration with Governing Bodies (Soccer Nova Scotia & Canada Soccer)

  • Training Equipment

  • Administrative Costs (Operations, registration system, processing fees, etc.)

  • League Fees (Games, facilities, administration, etc.)

Schedule Details

Registration Closes: April 26th, 2025
Start Date: Week of May 1st, 2025
Tentative End Date: August 31st, 2025
Sessions will run for 18 weeks (subject to change due to weather conditions)
Locations: Outdoor fields in Sackville/Bedford (exact locations and times will be determined based on registration numbers and field allocations from the Halifax Regional Municipality)

Option 1:

  • Mondays between 5:15pm - 8:15pm, Field location TBD

Option 2:

  • Mondays between 5:15pm - 8:15pm, Field location TBD

  • Thursdays between 5:45pm - 8:15 @ Weir Field

Games:

  • U7/8/9 Boys & Girls: Saturdays, location to be decided by the League

  • U10/11 Boys & Girls: Sundays, location to be decided by the League

Uniform Requirements

  • U7/U8 and U9 Skill Centre Players: All blue Training Kit only (black Puma uniform will be provided for games)

  • U10 and U11 Skill Centre Players: Training Kit + Home Game Kit*

*Note:
For U10/11 players requiring the game kit, if you are new to the club or just moving up to U10, you need to be assigned a number. Please email admin@suburbanfc.ca to request your number allocation.

Need To Know

Schedules are subject to change based on facility availability. If there are any changes to location or time, communication will be sent via TeamSnap.

Parent & Player Requirements

Players and Parents must adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the club.

What happens if there is bad weather and field closures? 

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, there will be no make-up sessions or pro-rated refunds for poor weather or field closures. Field closures and extreme weather conditions are beyond our control. We will strive to offer programming when fields are available and safe for players. Any cancellations will be communicated via TeamSnap.
