The SFC Academy is a year-round program for Suburban FC players ready for the most demanding training and competition environment the club offers.
Designed for the top level of U12-U17 players, the Academy follows a professional-style structure. Players train several times per week on & off the field, compete regularly, and take part in showcases and tournaments. The focus is long-term development in a setting that challenges players on and off the field.
The Academy supports players with aspirations to progress to post-secondary, professional, or other high-performance pathways. As players move through the program, they gain exposure to college and professional coaches through showcases, tournaments, friendlies, and combines in Canada, the United States, and abroad.
Training is built around all four pillars of the game: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.
The Academy tryout window for U13-U17 is annually in September/October. U13-U17 players who may meet Academy standard will be evaluated on an on-going basis throughout other programming, or at the tryouts for other levels. Our U12 Academy programs have tryouts in both the Spring (Mar/Apr) & Fall (Sep/Oct).

U12 Academy Training Frequency: 3-5x Weekly
*To register for U12 Academy tryouts please select “U12 Academy Base Fee”. If selected for Academy the remaining fees will be outlined in your invitation letter and will be added to your account upon your acceptance.
U13/15/17
Duration: Year-round (November – October)
U13, U15 & U17 Academy Training Frequency: 4-6x Weekly
Tryout period is in September/October
U12 Only: Opens Feb 16th – closes Mar 21st
IMPORTANT: To register for U12 Academy Tryouts the player must have played in AA or A Level in the Winter 2025/26 season. Players who did not play in those levels can register for U12A.
U12 Only: Starts week of April 13th – Ends mid September

Players interested in U13-17 Academy can register for Competitive AA and will be evaluated at those tryouts.
Opportunities for financial support are primarily available through KidSport .
Suburban FC is a non-profit soccer club and we strive to balance low program fees (as low as possible) with superior coaching and training opportunities.
