THE ACADEMY
The SFC Academy program is a year-round program that provides the highest level of training and gameplay that Suburban FC has to offer.
The Academy is home to the most passionate and committed players. It features a professional academy structure where players train several times per week, before or after school, play frequent games and attend top-level showcase and tournament events.
Academy Age Groups:
U12 (AA) 2013
U13 (AA) 2012
U15 (AAA): 2010 & 2011
U17 (AAA): 2008 & 2009
Program Details:
This program is the first of its kind in Nova Scotia. It is targeted toward the top U12-U17 players/teams at Suburban FC who have aspirations of playing at a higher level such as post-secondary or professional environments.
This program provides the tools, opportunities and connections to help players reach different pathways as they develop and will help lead them to where they are best suited.
As players age through the program, they will be exposed to post-secondary and professional coaches from Canada, the United States and abroad by attending showcase events, tournaments, friendlies and combines.
Players in this program will train 3-6x weekly in all 4 pillars of the game (Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological).

Program Details
U13/15/17
Duration: Year-round (November - October)
Start Date: November 1st, 2024
The program will run for 42 weeks (mandatory breaks provided)
Holiday Break: December 22nd - January 4th (December 1st - 31st for AAA teams)
March Break: March 10th - 15th (All Academy Teams) & March 10th - 22nd (U13 only)
U13, U15 & U17 Academy Training Frequency: 4-6x Weekly (Early Morning OR Late Afternoon)

Duration: April - September
Registration closes: April 3rd, 2025
Start Date: Week of April 14th, 2025
U12 Academy Training Frequency: 3-5x Weekly (Early Morning OR Late Afternoon)
*To register for U12 Academy tryouts please select “U12 Academy Base Fee”. If selected for Academy the remaining fees will be outlined in your invitation letter and will be added to your account upon your acceptance.
U12 Academy players will tryout at the same time as U12AA - CLICK HERE FOR TRYOUT SCHEDULE
League Game Days for Summer: (as scheduled by Nova Scotia Soccer League, additional days of the week may be used as a back-up)
U12AA Girls and Boys - Sunday/Thursday
U13AA Girls and Boys - Saturday/Thursdsay
U15AAA Girls and Boys - Saturday/Wednesday
U17AAA Girls and Boys - Sunday/Thursday
Cost: The cost will be included in the invitation letter if the player is invited to join the Academy team.
Please note: Unless told otherwise, anyone wishing to make an Academy team must be a registered player and attend the Suburban FC tryouts as these programs are invite-only.

Schedules are subject to change based on facility availability. If location or time changes, communication will be sent out via TeamSnap.
Parent and Player Requirements
Players and parents must abide by the Policies and Procedures of the club.
What happens if there is bad weather and field closures?
** Unfortunately due to time constraints, there will be no make-up sessions or pro-rated refunds due to poor weather/field closure. Field closures and extreme weather conditions are beyond our control. We will always strive to ensure that programming is offered when we have access to fields and it does not jeopardize the safety of our players. Any cancellations will be clearly communicated via TeamSnap. **
